## Overview

The project involved the review and enhancement of the detailed design, incorporating improvements where required, and the preparation of tender documents for airfield upgrades at Kawartha Lakes Airport. The work included construction of a new Runway 01-19 (approximately 750 m) and a new taxiway (approximately 140 m), reconstruction of an existing taxiway (approximately 105 m), and rehabilitation of Runway 13-31 (approximately 1,000 m). The scope also covered field investigations, topographic and geotechnical surveys, utility coordination, and stakeholder engagement with airport management and regulatory authorities. Construction activities comprised subgrade preparation, granular base placement, asphalt paving, sub-drain installation, milling and overlay of existing pavements, and application of pavement markings in accordance with aviation standards. Additional apron repair works included removal of deteriorated asphalt, surface regrading for improved drainage, and relocation of a catch basin. The consultant provided ongoing site review, quality assurance, progress reporting, and oversight throughout all project phases to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
